A Colorful Night for Cebu Business Month 2017 Grand Opening Salvo

A lot is truly in store for Cebu this 2017! Famed as the province’s immense and most prestigious business event, Cebu Business Month 2017 has formally launched its series of events tonight with a Grand Opening Salvo at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
With this year’s theme: STEP Up Cebu, which stands for “Stepping Up Technology, Entrepreneurship and Productivity for the Upliftment of Cebu”, it aims to contribute to the competitive advantage of Cebu in the global economy, propelling Cebu business to the global community. STEP Up Cebu is also the pursuit of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s thrust to “bring business to the next level.”
The Grand Opening Salvo was opened by Cebu’s very own Vice Governor Agnes Almendras Magpale emphasizing a stronger partnership with CCCI to furthermore contribute to the competitive advantage of Cebu in the global economy.
The night highlights what Cebu has to offer in Arts, Fashion and Craft featuring Best of Cebu like Philipp Tampus’ fashion line, Performances by the Knapsack Dancers and the recognition of Kenneth Cobonpue as the official brand ambassador of Cebu that certainly defines CCCI’s commitment to the local community: The quest to reach young members of the society and empower them to create homegrown but global innovations.



Mr Charles Kenneth Co, CBM 2017 Overall Chairperson, during his speech said that this years’s CBM is designed for entrepreneurs who wants to expand their businesses, tourisms and stakeholders who are looking to entice more visitors, and start-ups who dreams to become the next big thing. Thus followed by the unveiling of the three major thrusts: TOURISM, unveiled by tourism head Edwin Ortiz, ENTREPRENEURSHIP by Ms Kate Anzani and ICT-BPM by Mr Christian Paro-an.

Through the efforts of CCCI with this year’s president Ms Melanine Ng, the event has gained support and has grown it’s community following 21 years now.

Capping the night off was an outstanding and colorful performance by the University of Cebu Dancers, Knapsack dancers, singers from the Brown Academy of Cebu lead by Cebu’s very own Anna Fegi-Brown.
