Isla, recently opened last November 4, 2017 has been an island food hub for those foodies that are craving for good food away from the busy streets in the city.
Isla, which stands for Incorporated by Sombilon, Licera and Adan is a joint venture of 4 friends, Jayson Sombilon, Thesa Licera and married couple Shera Mae and Bobby Adan Jr.
The venture came about while the 4 of them and 2 more people were spending a staycation August this year at a resort in Mactan island after splitting their shares from a photography/event business with some of their barkada that was discontinued.
Since their group has always been fond of eating out, the idea of starting a food venture has already been in mind by Jayson and Thesa since Thesa has been fond of cooking and baking; and when the idea of actually starting the business sparked among them, Bobby and She eventually joined in.
Just a few hours after their staycation, the four of them started scouting for a location right away, processed legalities and started putting the place together themselves. A labor of love.

1. Korean Sweet and Spicy Wings.
Which you will absolutely enjoy especially if you’re craving after watching loads of KDrama.
Other flavors include Classic Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Honey Garlic, Honey BBQ and Spicy Mango Habanero which is a must try! Unlimited Chicken Wings is prices at 199 php with unli rice but can also be bought ala carte for 179 for 8 pcs and 250 for 12 pcs.
2. Baby Back Ribs.
Well-marinated ribs that the flavor basically is retained deeply in the meat. The ribs is good for 2 to 3 people but with it’s taste, I can certainly finish everything by myself.
3. Shrimps
Available are the Classic Garlic Butter but if you’re looking for a bit of kick and twist, their Black Pepper Shrimps and Bacon Wrapped Shrimps with Cheese is to die for.
Now that you had your fill of a foodie fest, don’t forget to try their desserts too! Cap off your meal with Mango Cream Cupcake, Red Velvet Cupcake or Brownie Ala Mode.
What makes Isla a great dining location is its quaint, encouraging diners a more intimate dining experience. Isla does not only offer good food but it gives you a “homey” feeling with the owners being hands-on in serving their customers themselves.
Located at General Aviation Road, Lapu-Lapu City, you get a view of the airport with airplanes flying in and out. Open from 4PM to 10PM, you can also catch the sun set through their massive glass windows.
