This 350,000 sqm integrated development is named after former Cebu City Bantay Dagat project director, Elpidio “Jojo” dela Victoria to pay tribute for his bravery in protecting our waters from dynamite fishermen. New Isla dela Victoria was initially announced by former Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña last March 2018. Currently, Cebu City Mayor Labella already gave his support and approved the project.

John Gokongwei, a self-made Cebuano billionaire, has agreed to generously invest in the P25 billion project (initially P18 billion) in SRP Cebu with no cost to Cebu City. Cebu City will keep 10% of all profits earned for the whole duration. When the 50-year lease expires, the Cebu City Government will own not just 10%, but everything on the property.
