“Hakata” is a city in Fukuoka prefecture, Japan. Here you can find original tonkotsu-ramen shops that tourists line up to try. This is what inspired the store-owners to name their shop Hakata Ramenba, which is a Japanese Yatai inspired ramen and Yakitori shop built here in Cebu. Ramen

Ramen is a noodle soup dish that became a staple dish in Japan. There are five basic components to a ramen: noodles, tare, broth, topping, and aroma oil. Here at Hakata Ramenba, all these components are present for you to enjoy. The shop offers four variations of their signature ramen. This includes:

  • Classic Tonkotsu- This contains pork stock, Hakata-style noodles, black fungus, scallions, and dried seaweed sheet. (Tamago and chasu not included)
  • Black Tonkotsu- This contains pork stock, Hakata-style noodles, black fungus, scallions, dried seaweed sheet, and black garlic.  (Tamago and chasu not included)
  • Red Tonkotsu- This contains pork stock, Hakata-style noodles, black fungus, scallions, dried seaweed sheet, and red chilli paste.  (Tamago and chasu not included)
  • Tantanmen (Premium Ramen)- This contains pork stock, Hakata-style noodles, bok choy, minced-meat, marinated soft boiled eggs, and topped with chopped scallions.

With these variations of ramen, you are also given a chance to choose your preferred ramen noodle thickness, from ultra thin noodles to ultra thick noodles. Reward yourself with their rich and tasty ramens! For sure you’d be wanting more than one bowl.

Donburi Meals

This dish is considered a favorite for people in Japan because it is quick to make and it is delicious. Donburi is named for its large bowl that it is served in. In this store, they have four donburi meals to choose from.

All contain the basic components of a donburi: Japanese rice, egg, scallions and dried seaweeds. The meals differ in your preferred topping which includes karaage, chasu, shrimp, or grilled pork belly. Try this all-in-one meal that is filling and satisfying.

Tempura

Fresh prawns dipped in a batter, and then deep fried with hot oil. With its crispy and airy coating, you will not be cloyed by the taste of the tempura being served here. Allow yourself to have a bite of this addicting goodness!

Chicken Karaage

These are crunchy, deep fried pieces of marinated chicken that is served with slices of lemon and a drizzle of mayonnaise for extra flavor. Chicken karaage differs from your regular fried chicken because it has a perfect balance of exquisite taste, texture, and aroma. Try munching this well-flavored Japanese fried chicken that is worth drooling over.
