According to Conde Nast Traveller’s (CNT) 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards, the Philippines came in at number 10 for Friendliest countries. The said rank is based on Condenast Travelers survey result after they asked its readers for the friendliest countries in the world.
Based on their review:
“the Philippines (made up of around 7,641 islands) inclusion is proof that the famous Filipino hospitality is alive and kicking. The country has often been praised for its seemingly effortless ability to lavish genuine hospitality on visitors, foreigners, or expatriates. Many people consider the Banaue Rice Terraces here to be the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World,’ though plenty of other beauty spots abound here. The islands are peppered with majestic mountainscapes, decorative churches and sprawling sandy beaches.”

Further on the list are Sri Lanka, ranked ninth, Belize in eighth place. Peru in seventh place, Botswana in sixth place, Costa Rica in fifth place. Thailand in fourth place, New Zealand in third place, Colombia in second place and French Polynesia in first place.
The Philippines’ placement on the list, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT), was made possible by “the Filipinos’ warmth and lavish genuine hospitable nature.”
Conde Nast Traveler has been praising the Philippines, naming Boracay and Palawan as two of the world’s “greatest islands.”
The nation resumed receiving international visitors in February despite the COVID-19 outbreak, and as of this month, has welcomed nearly 1.7 million of them, exceeding the DOT‘s target for tourist arrivals by the end of the year.
Along with these restrictions, the government also lifted quarantine and required testing requirements for passengers.
