The Philippines received 5 major 2023 World Travel Awards nominations!

The World Travel Awards (WTA) has once again nominated the Philippines, this time with several recognitions across a wide range of categories for the Asian edition of  WTA 2023.

WTA recognizes excellence in the travel, airline, hotel, and hospitality industries. The site shortlisted the Philippines for the titles of Asia’s Leading Dive Destination and Asia’s Leading Beach Destination.    

This year, Cebu is competing with Bali, Ko Samui, and Langkawi for Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination. Additionally, Intramuros is contending for the title of Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction in this year’s competition.

In addition to that, the Department of Tourism has put forward for consideration as Asia’s Leading Tourist Board.

OTHER RECOGNITIONS AND NOMINATIONS

Apart from that, several hotel and resort chains located throughout the country have been put forward for consideration by this illustrious awarding body. Atmosphere Resorts & Spa is competing against Savoy Hotel Manila and Discovery Primea for the title of Asia’s Leading Dive Resort. Savoy Hotel Manila is up for Asia’s Leading Airport Hotel, and Discovery Primea is up for Asia’s Leading Business Hotel.

Both City of Dreams Manila and Okada Manila have recognized with two nominations each in the following categories. Asia’s Leading Casino Resort and Asia’s Leading Fully Integrated Resort.

The Manila Hotel, which has been around for 109 years, has also considered for the award of Asia’s Leading Heritage Hotel. On the other hand, the Belmont Hotel has considered for the award of Asia’s Leading Hotel. 

In addition, the WTA has acknowledged Raffles Makati as a contender for the title of Asia’s Leading Hotel Residence. Shangri-La Boracay was included on the list of Asia’s Leading Luxury Beach Resorts.

One of Asia’s Leading Private Island Resorts is the exclusive Amanpulo. Which is a favourite among both local and international celebrities. The resort has been shortlisted for this prestigious award.

Meanwhile, The Farm at San Benito has submitted an entry for this year’s contest to find Asia’s Leading Retreat.

And last but not least, the Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila was proposed as a top choice among Asia’s finest serviced residences.

Voting can be done through their website beginning on February 20, 2023, and continuing until the clock strikes midnight on March 19, 2023.
