Norby Roque Salonga is recognized as “Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year” for Asia Pacific
under the Triple E Awards of the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial & Engaged
Universities (ACEEU). The awarding ceremony was held on June 27, 2023 in Barcelona Spain.
Salonga is the only Filipino and ASEAN educator who made it to the said category. Around 54
countries represented by Higher Education Institutions worldwide participated in the awards
ceremony.

The award category recognizes an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding
performance in the design and delivery of an entrepreneurship course. Passionate about
entrepreneurship, the awardee inspires students to pursue an entrepreneurial career and shape
the future through the creation of innovative solutions. The Triple E Awards are a global
recognition of efforts toward the quest for entrepreneurship and engagement in higher
education. It is the first award to focus specifically on different dimensions of the universities’
third mission. Implemented regionally, the Triple E Awards aim to foster change in universities
and to emphasize their role in their communities and ecosystems. ACEEU is a Germany-based
accreditation council composed of world-leading experts in the fields of entrepreneurship and
engagement.
A Journey of Passion and Purpose
Salonga teaches social entrepreneurship at De La Salle University and is the founding director
of the award-winning Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center.
The said Center is also recognized as 1st runner up for the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDG) Initiative of the Year category. Addressing his fellow educators, Salonga pointed out that
the role of the education sector is not limited to educating minds, but to forming a generation
that understands the value of education in real life.

Salonga is the Founding President of YOUTeacH Philippines, the first ever network of young
teachers in the Philippines, Professional Fellow of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative
(YSEALI) by the American Council of International Education and the U.S. State Department
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and Founder of The WHY.
