Cebu, Philippines — Get ready for an unforgettable food experience as the Hotel Resorts and Restaurants Association of Cebu Inc. (HRRACI) proudly presents Cebu Goes Culinary 2023. From September 30th to October 1st, 2023, enjoy a remarkable showcase at the SM Seaside City Skyhall and Atrium Areas, brought to you in partnership with the National Food Showdown (NFS).
This year’s theme is “Malakas at Maganda: The Return of Filipino Food,” which focuses on the amazing diversity and artistry of Filipino culinary creations. As the center of Central Visayas’ most talented chefs and up-and-coming cooks, Cebu Goes Culinary aims to elevate Filipino cuisine to new heights.

What To Expect
The event will feature a variety of categories catering to both professional cooks and students. From the Klasika Moderna Kulinarya, also known as the Battle Royale, where chefs will give traditional dishes a modern twist, to the Compleat Chefs competition, where contestants will be challenged to use surprise ingredients like Suka and Bagoong in making new regional specialties, you’re in for a treat.

For those with a sweet tooth, the ‘Sweet Revenge’ segment is a must-see, featuring flavorful Filipino desserts that are both visually appealing and delectable for judges and attendees to enjoy.

Cebu Goes Culinary has been a testament to the culinary excellence of the region for over 14 years. Led by Chef Myrna D. Segismundo and other powerhouses from the food and hospitality industries, including Mrs. Julita Urbina, known for her cooking skills and business success with the Laguna Group; Mr. Carlo Suarez, a committed member of HRRACI who became its President in 2016; and Mr. Josef Victor Chiongbian, a seasoned hospitality expert with more than 14 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, and hotel operations, has joined forces with regional tourism to make this event a reality.
