The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with Senator Imee Marcos, is thrilled to announce the Online Content Challenge, a special category within the esteemed Young Creatives Challenge (YC2), designed to inspire, recognize, and spotlight the exceptional creative talents of young Filipino citizens aged 18 to 35, especially those with a passion for crafting original online content.

The Young Creatives Challenge (YC2) has earned its reputation as the grandest battle of creativity, encompassing various categories such as Songwriting, Screenwriting, Playwriting, Graphic Novel, Animation, Game Development, and now, the latest addition, Online Content. Participants have the incredible opportunity to win not only the title but also a grand prize of 1 MILLION PESOS! Additionally, the grand winners in each category will be provided with millions’ worth of promotional campaigns, incentives, and exclusive opportunities.

This competition, with the theme “open” and “free-subject,” allows participants the freedom to explore any topic or subject matter that ignites their creative spirit. This approach provides artists, writers, and creators with a wide canvas of creative possibilities, inclusivity, personal expression, flexibility of medium, and diversity.

Contest Mechanics

Eligibility: The competition is open to all natural-born Filipino citizens between the ages of 18 and 35.

Content: Participants are invited to submit video content following a two-part theme. The first part is dedicated to showcasing Filipino creativity in the fields of music, film, theater arts, animation, graphic novel, and game development. The second part highlights the YC2 competition itself. Content creators can submit entries either individually or as part of a team, with a maximum of one (1) video per entry.

Submission: Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2023, at 11:59 PM. You must upload all entries via TikTok, tagging the @youngcreativeschallenge account and using the following hashtags:

Judging Criteria: DTI will evaluate entries based on the following criteria: Relevance (30%), Creativity and Originality (30%), and Views and Engagements (40%).

Prizes: DTI will award a total of P200,000 worth of gift certificates to 30 outstanding entries. The first-place winner will receive P30,000, the second-place winner will receive P20,000, the third-place winner will receive P15,000, and 27 additional entries will each receive P5,000.

Timeline: The competition period runs until September 30, 2023. The announcement of the winners will take place during the semi-finals in October 2023.

In addition to the YC2’s diverse creative categories, the inclusion of the Online Content Challenge underlines DTI’s commitment to celebrating the vibrant online content creation community inspired by Filipino culture. This competition aims to foster a sense of community, provide a platform for talented online content creators, and contribute to the growth of the creative industries in the Philippines.
