It was my first time at St. Mark’s Hotel and as I entered, live music was played by a classic band from the dining area. There were festive decorations that made the place look colourful, alive and definitely pleasing to the eyes, especially those who wish to get their stomach’s full and couldn’t wait to dig in the buffet.
By now, you might be wondering what choices are a must-try in this buffet, so here are my top 3 suggestions.
My Top 3 Cebuano Buffet Choices At St. Mark Hotel
Top 3: Desserts!
Yaaay! I really love the desserts. They serve classic Filipino/Cebuano desserts like leche flan, sapin-sapin, palitaw, kutsinta, puto bumbong, some cakes and fruit salad.
I was surprised for the iced candy, a popular Filipino street dessert rarely served in hotels.
And what’s more surprising is that their iced candy was really delicious too!
Top 2: Linagpad
We don’t have this dish in Iloilo and I hesitated to try at first. It was quite good, I must say. I am a certified meat-eater and having a taste of this dish really amazed me.
Top 1 : Give me a drum roll please!
My top 1 must-try food in the Cebuano Buffet of St. Mark Hotel is Rico’s Lechon!
Who doesn’t know about Rico’s Lechon in Cebu? If you are not fond of the delicious roasted pig, then I think I can spare you of your insolence.
Anyway…
Rico’s Lechon is, perhaps, the most well-known lechon brand in Cebu. I kept on eating it even if I was already full. The taste of this tasty lechon that is proudly Cebuano brand was just so different, in a very stomach-filled, great way. “Talagang babalik-balikan mo.” I was so happy that it was part of their buffet.
St. Mark’s Hotel also serves teas, which varieties are suited for those who like a simple caffeine fix, that is also refreshing and beneficial.
After eating and feeling very full, have a cup of hot Dilmah tea to sip to help you and your stomach relax after a heavy meal.
When it comes to service, the waiters and the crew are very familiar with the food that they serve.
They are cordial and would readily attend to the needs in a timely manner.
St. Mark Hotel is located at Queens Road, Redemptorist Plaza, Camputhaw, City.
