Undisputed boxing champ Floyd Mayweather made a notable appearance on Wednesday, Sept. 28, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new three-story Frontrow International headquarters in Quezon City. The building, henceforth known as the Mayweather Building, marks a significant collaboration between the boxing icon and the networking company.

During a media conference held on the occasion, Mayweather expressed his deep affection for the Philippines, declaring it his “adopted home.” He highlighted the warm reception and hospitality he receives from Filipinos, which makes him feel like family whenever he visits.

Hosted by Frontrow founders Raymond “RS” Francisco and party list Rep. Sam Versoza, Mayweather’s four-day trip to the Philippines is primarily dedicated to official activities as an endorser of the networking company and its charity arm, Frontrow Cares. Amidst his busy schedule, Mayweather plans to unwind at an undisclosed beach resort before his departure.

Promoting Tourism

In an unintentional nod to Philippine tourism, Mayweather encouraged viewers to visit the country, praising its cool atmosphere and hospitable people. Additionally, he lauded boxing great Manny Pacquiao, acknowledging his significant role in representing Filipino culture on the global stage.

Despite his amicable relationship with Pacquiao, Mayweather dismissed the possibility of a rematch or exhibition fight, emphasizing his transition from competitive boxing to entertainment-focused endeavors. He expressed contentment with his achievements and current endeavors, asserting a desire to stay in his lane.

Behind-the-Scenes Insight

Beyond the boxing ring, Mayweather offered glimpses into his personal life, describing himself as a family-oriented individual who enjoys simple pleasures like skating and watching movies. He also hinted at an upcoming documentary series chronicling his life over the past 26 years, set to be released in 2023.

Mayweather’s involvement with Frontrow stems from his assistant’s connection to the Filipino community. Intrigued by the company’s mission to make a positive impact, Mayweather saw an opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes, aligning with Frontrow’s vision of reaching and empowering people.

Endorsement Fit

Frontrow president RS Francisco emphasized Mayweather’s alignment with the company’s values, considering him the “perfect fit” due to his status as a champion both inside and outside the ring. Despite his intimidating boxing persona, Francisco described Mayweather as approachable and compassionate, highlighting his genuine concern for touching people’s lives positively.

Mayweather’s visit to the Philippines not only signifies a significant partnership with Frontrow but also underscores his genuine connection and appreciation for the country and its people.
