According to GMA Regional TV News, Vitor’s winning piece is a hyper-surreal work depicting fellow Boholano artist and environmentalist Pedro Angco. Angco’s wisdom, environmental advocacy, and upcycling efforts, which inspired Vitor’s artwork, are celebrated.

Vitor’s artworks celebrate Boholano heritage, culture, traditional wisdom, and pre-colonial systems of writing such as Kudlit and Eskaya. He expresses his pride in Boholano culture by writing the titles of his works in the native tongue.

Vitor’s journey as an artist began with his struggle with severe myopia, which influenced his penchant for hyper images and bold colors. His faith plays a significant role in his life and art, as reflected in his favorite scripture verse, Jeremiah 29:11.

Recognition and Accomplishments

Museum curators Salvatore and Francesco Saverio Russo have selected Vitor’s artwork to feature among other international and contemporary artists. Included in “Contemporary Celebrity Masters Volume II 2024,” he’s proud to share the spotlight with Leonardo da Vinci’s legacy. This recognition highlights his impactful presence in the contemporary art world.

The award ceremony will take place at the National Museum of Science and Technology – Leonardo da Vinci, with distinguished guests and art enthusiasts in attendance. The sculpted trophy, handmade by skilled Tuscan artisans, symbolizes the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci and will bear Vitor’s name.

Vitor sees his artworks as a legacy for Bohol and its people, hoping that they will resonate with future generations. He aims to leave a lasting impact in fine arts, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. His goal is to create a legacy that inspires future generations.
