Godwin Langbayan

Filipino mixed martial artist Godwin Langbayan is gearing up for an intense showdown against Singaporean fighter Sim Kai Xiong in the upcoming Kombat Sports Kalayaan (KSK) MMA festival. Despite the age gap, Langbayan, at 34, remains undeterred and confident in his abilities to secure victory against his 26-year-old opponent.

Set to take place on April 28th in Makati, Langbayan and Xiong will battle it out for the prestigious KSK MMA championship title, marking a significant milestone in their respective careers.

In a recent press conference, Langbayan expressed his readiness for the fight, emphasizing that while he may not be 100% confident, he is undoubtedly 100% prepared. Drawing from his experiences with the national sambo team, Langbayan believes his background in combat sports provides him with a competitive edge, particularly in striking and grappling.

Godwin Langbayan highlighted his previous encounters, including facing off against a European champion in the world championship of Sambo, as testament to his preparedness for the upcoming bout.

Langbayan’s opponent, Sim Kai Xiong, brings his own set of credentials to the table. Having been part of the Road to UFC Season 2 and the UFC performance institute, Xiong presents a formidable challenge. However, Langbayan remains undaunted, expressing his belief that Xiong’s level may not be as high as perceived based on past fights.
