Philippines is Sole Asia Stop for ‘Marvel Universe Live!’

Marvel Universe Live

“Marvel Universe Live!” by Feld Entertainment is set to make its Asian debut in the Philippines, marking the show’s only stop on the continent. The superhero-filled spectacle, featuring iconic Marvel teams like the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, will run from June 7 to 16 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

Audiences can expect a high-octane performance filled with immersive video projection and cutting-edge special effects, transporting them to iconic Marvel locations like New York City and the Savage Land. The show promises aerial stunts from Spider-Man and the motorcycle prowess of Captain America, ensuring an action-packed experience for fans of all ages.

At a media conference held on May 2, Feld Entertainment‘s Senior Director for the Asia Pacific Region Matthew Garrick described “Marvel Universe Live!” as the “largest family-tailored production made for an arena setting.” Garrick also noted that the popularity of “Disney On Ice,” another Feld Entertainment production, contributed to the decision to make the Philippines the sole Asian stop.

The General Manager and Business Unit Head of the MOA Arena, Arnel Gonzales, highlighted that the show coincides with the arena’s 12th anniversary. The timing also aligns with Father’s Day in June, offering an opportunity to celebrate fathers and other heroes.

“We live that superhero life,” said Brandon Glass, one of the show’s performers. “We find that unique skill we can contribute to the show. There’s a lot of physical work, mental work, and it’s all a good time.”

Glass revealed that the performers underwent media training by watching various Marvel films and series to capture the spirit of their characters. Although “Marvel Universe Live!” has an original storyline, the show features many familiar Marvel heroes and villains.

In addition to Captain America and Spider-Man, fans can look forward to appearances by Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther, Hulk, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy (Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Rocket, Drax). The show will also feature antagonists like Nebula, Loki, and Green Goblin, adding to the excitement.

Garrick assured that while there are different iterations of the show, the version coming to the Philippines is the most popular among families, with only minor tweaks from productions in other locations. He described the production as an “action-packed show with wholesome family fun.”

“Marvel Universe Live!” is set to be a memorable event for Filipino Marvel fans and families alike, offering a unique opportunity to experience their favorite superheroes in a live setting. Dynamic performances and thrilling special effects are positioning the show to be a hit during its Manila run.
