"Bagong Pilipinas"
Recently, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos mandated the inclusion of the “Bagong Pilipinas” hymn and pledge during flag ceremonies across government offices and public schools.

This directive aims to instill the principles of governance and leadership under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative among state employees and students alike.

As we proceed, let’s first discover….

The Launch of “Bagong Pilipinas”: A Historic Rally in Manila

On January 28, 2024, Manila’s Quirino Grandstand hosted a historic rally to launch “Bagong Pilipinas” (“New Philippines”), drawing an impressive crowd of approximately 400,000 supporters.

Vice President Sara Duterte led the event, joined by key officials from Malacañang and Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, signifying a unified commitment to the principles of this new governance initiative. The rally served as a pivotal moment in Philippine politics, highlighting a collective vision for unity, progress, and transformative leadership under Vice President Duterte’s stewardship.

Attendees eagerly embraced the call for change and reform, reflecting widespread public enthusiasm and support for “Bagong Pilipinas.” The event underscored the administration’s focus on integrity, innovation, and inclusive growth, aiming to mobilize citizens towards a future marked by resilience and prosperity.

As the Philippines embarks on this new chapter, the launch rally at Quirino Grandstand stands as a powerful symbol of national solidarity and determination to build a stronger, more cohesive society for all Filipinos.

Let’s all join in harmony as we sing….

The “Bagong Pilipinas” Hymn: Lyrics

“Panahon na ng pagbabago
Tayo na magtulong-tulong
Na paularin ang mahal nating bayan

Panahon na ng pagbabago
At iayos ang mga dapat ayusin
Dapat lang maging tungkulin
Ng bawat mamamayan dito sa atin

Gawin ang pagbabago
Patungo sa pag-asenso
Magsikap ng mabuti
At nang guminhawa tayo

Ipagmalaki natin sa mundo at ipamalas
Ang Bagong Pilipino at Bagong Pilipinas

Panahon na ng pagbabago
Tangkilikin natin ang sariling atin
At tama lang na ugaliin
Kaysa sa iba sa atin ang unahin

Panahon na ng pagbabago
At manguna sa kahit anong larangan
Ang tagumpay ay karangalan
Ialay o ihandog natin sa bayan

Ilang ulit nang napatunayan ng Pilipino
Ang husay at lakas, kagandahan, at talento
Handang makipag paligsahan kahit anong oras

Ang bagong Pilipino, ang Bagong Pilipinas
Panahon na ng pagbabago
Buhay natin ay gawing maaliwalas

Marami ang magandang bukas
Ang ibubunga ng Bagong Pilipinas

PANAHON NA!”

Taglay ang galing na naaayon sa mga pandaigdigang pamantayan;

Isusulong at pangagalagaan ko ang karangalan, Kalayaan at interes ng aking bayang minamahal;

Bilang Pilipino na may pagmahahal, pakilam at malasakit; hindi makasarili kundi para sa mas nakakarami; tatahakin ko ang landas tungo sa isang Bagong Pilipinas!”

Implementation and Impact

Marcos’ Memorandum Circular No. 52, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, mandates the immediate integration of the hymn and pledge into weekly flag ceremonies across national government agencies, GOCCs, educational institutions, and encourages local government units (LGUs) to follow suit. This initiative underscores a concerted effort to promote national pride, civic duty, and the advancement of a progressive Philippines.

The introduction of the “Bagong Pilipinas” hymn and pledge represents a significant step towards fostering a unified sense of identity and purpose among Filipinos. By incorporating these elements into regular ceremonies, the government aims to cultivate a renewed spirit of patriotism and collective responsibility, paving the way towards a promising future for the nation.
