Cebu Blogging Community, one of the prominent and the most dynamic blogging and online communities in the Visayas and in the Philippines is celebrating its 2nd anniversary at Mandani Bay Show Gallery at Mandaue City on August 13, 2016.
CBC 2.0 Activate: #LevelUpCEBU
Through its campaign CBC 2.0 Activate, the blogging community aims to encourage its existing members to thrust their passion to improve their blogging skills.
In an era in social media in which being a blogger is not anymore that glamorous, the leads of the blogging community push for a level up in blogging, hence the hashtag, #LevelUpCebu.
#LevelUpCebu aims to inspire the Cebu-based bloggers to bring about their advocacies and build their respective communities with a passion to highlight the changes needed to happen for Cebu.
As digital influencers, existing members of Cebu Blogging Community have the responsibility to bring about changes for social good through the power of their blogs, social media accounts and pages and in honing their skills to motivate and encourage positive transformation in the society.
“Bloggers have the ability to influence positive change. Their difference with other social media personalities is that they have a platform that they can use to elevate their brand, advocacies, principles and even their respective businesses,” says Bjorn Bernales, CBC Community Lead for Networks and Linkages.
“However, we encourage them to also go beyond blogging, which is to build communities in social media and to use various social media applications to become digital influencers for social good, “ he adds.
CBC Community Founder Ruben Licera, Jr., is aiming for a more progressive netizenship. “#LevelupCebu is the collective voice of the netizens looking for a more progressive developmental actions to the current social issues in Cebu. As a community, we want to empower Cebuano netizens, that more than events, there are a lot of social issues that we should be attentive to.”
Licera adds, “the community is gearing towards more exciting and educational discussions and bootcamps so that we can help Cebu bloggers achieve their personal and business goals online.”
“Our goal in this program is to provide a hindsight to bloggers on the bigger opportunities awaiting them beyond blogging. Through a series of trainings, the bloggers can develop their understanding and their skills to improve the way they write, campaign and advocate,” Licera remarks, providing an insight on the bigger scale of blogging,” Licera quips.
Recently, the community launched the Social Media Marketing Bootcamp for Professionals (#SocialMediaPro) that was geared to professionals who want to grow their career and business through effective and result-oriented digital and social media marketing strategies.
Carlo Olano is CBC’s first Chief Community Officer
Incoming Chief Community Officer, Carlo Andrew Olano of KalamiCebu.com holds the responsibility of encouraging the existing members of CBC to be more proactive in the community.
“My goal is to encourage the existing bloggers of CBC to be more proactive in our activities and more engaging in campaigns that they like and aspire to participate.” Olano quips.
“Also, it has been part of the responsibility of the CBC Leads to bring a slew of quality bloggers in Cebu so the bloggers can take part of the opportunities that they haven’t recognized yet. We believe in the power of connectivity, not just on the Internet, but also in the building of relationships with organizations, businesses and other communities,” Olano adds.
