Globe Telecom, a trailblazing leader in the realm of telecommunications, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to extending a helping hand to those in need. In a heartfelt response to the devastating impact of torrential rains and severe flooding that have engulfed the serene landscapes of Cagayan de Oro City, Globe has emerged as a beacon of hope, setting up indispensable Libreng Tawag (Free Calls) and Libreng Charging (Free Charging) stations across the city’s most critically affected areas.

These strategically positioned Globe booths have become vital lifelines, situated at key locations where the flood’s aftermath has left communities grappling with communication and power challenges. One such haven of assistance is the Brgy. Hall on Mabolo Street, Brgy. Carmen—a bustling hub where the displaced and distressed can find solace in staying connected with their loved ones, despite the calamity’s upheaval. The embrace of care extends to the Cugman Elementary School, where Globe’s unwavering dedication to community support manifests as readily available communication services, allowing flood victims to reunite with their families and share much-needed updates.

Another emblem of Globe’s humanitarian endeavors stands at Brgy. 26 Osmena Street, strategically positioned in front of an ongoing construction site for SM, symbolizing the resilience and solidarity of the community even in the face of adversity. This station, like the others, offers not only the means to communicate but also the assurance of a charged device, empowering individuals with the ability to access critical information and resources in this time of crisis.

Recognizing the urgency and significance of this situation, Globe has opened these stations to serve the affected residents until January 22, operating daily from 9 am to 6 pm. The duration of this heartwarming initiative remains open-ended, with a possibility of extension based on the evolving needs of the community.

In an age where connectivity often transcends geographical boundaries, Globe Telecom champions the idea that solidarity knows no bounds, reinforcing the notion that technology, when wielded compassionately, can bridge the gaps left by nature’s fury. Through Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging, Globe stands as a testament to the power of corporate social responsibility, reminding us all that, even in the darkest of times, the light of human kindness can shine through, rekindling the flames of hope and resilience within the hearts of Cagayan de Oro City’s flood-stricken populace.
